It’s a cliché that domestic animals sometimes seem to have almost human personalities. What experiences – good, bad or hilarious – have you had with our four-legged friends? Were you a teacher’s pet? Or is there a story behind the 'pet' name you call your partner.

Spark Stories - 2nd April 2012 at 7:30pm

" People pushed to the very edge of their limits have two choices: to give up and fall in, or to fight against the odds and claw their way back. It is rarely the easy option to come back from the brink, but that's what makes stories from the edge so satisfying to listen to."

" We're often told that we're becoming increasingly estranged from our neighbours in this modern age, but is that really so? And is it always a good thing to be close to your fellow residents? Do you have a longstanding feud with the couple next door. Or maybe you were the neighbour who drove the street crazy or brought a new lease of life to the area."

Spark Workshop - 17th March 2012 at 2:00pm

What will we do in the workshop? A series of exercises to find stories, craft them and share them with the group. There will also be a chance to meet some new people. No experience of storytelling is needed. Is this for me? 1. Are you curious about storytelling generally and keen to learn more about personal stories? 2. Have you been to a Spark London show and wondered, fleetingly, what it would be like to tell your story? 3. Did you resolve to do something new, scary or different in 2012? This could be it. 4. Does speaking publically scare the #h## out of you? They say it’s feared more than death. This is a chance to face that fear with some support. 5. Do you want to tell the story of your business to clients and investors in a more convincing way? If you said yes to any of these questions then come and join us. " They say that every scar has a story - and this is exactly what we plan to tell. From physical scars (the visible reminders of accidents, emergencies and injuries) to emotional ones (the lasting memories of troubles and turmoils) we are all covered in markings from history."

" However clearly you mark out your path in life, there will always be a bump, a curve or even a gaping great hole to knock you off-course. Sometimes welcome, oftentimes not, these spanners in the works - no matter how tiny - can have massive repercussions. We hear of people adjusting to and overcoming"
